As part of preparations for the 450th anniversary jubilee of Palacký University, employees of Palacký University Press and the Olomouc Museum of Art travelled to Innsbruck to professionally document the original ceremonial mace of Olomouc University, which was transferred to the University of Innsbruck in the second half of the 19th century.
Photo documentation took part on the basis of methodology determined through prior experience with photographing the maces of the UP Rector and the Dean of the Philosophical Faculty, which are contemporary to it. That allowed the team to meet in Innsbruck and in short fashion professionally photograph the insignia in an improvised studio. The series of photographs capturing the mace as a whole and in detail can now serve researchers for both representational and promotional purposes.
